First Aid
  • Since the 1st of October, 2013 it has been employer’s responsibility to provide first aiders in the workplace. All organisations must ensure by law that they have a sufficient number of employees who possess a first-aid qualification to fulfil their first-aid needs at all times. Employers must ensure that their provision is ‘adequate and appropriate in the circumstances.

    AOSH UK First Aid Qualifications have been produced in guidelines with Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Skills for Health and In line with the latest developments in practice. AOSH UK qualifications are designed to equip individuals to manage medical situations and provision in the workplace.

    Current Qualifications

    Depending on the level and nature of qualification required, employers/employees can choose one of our three qualifications:

    • AOSH UK Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
    • AOSH UK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work

Health & Safety
  • AOSH UK qualifications offer an increasing range of Health and Safety qualifications to meet with employment and workplace regulatory requirements, improving conditions and reducing accidents and injuries.

    Who needs these qualifications?

    Employers are responsible for providing safe and healthy workplace conditions as well as the right systems and methods for safe activities. Nevertheless employees also have a vital part to play in the equation. They need the correct knowledge and the right attitude, which demands proper training in the basics of health and safety, as well as specific training for individual tasks.

Fire Safety
  • Each year, people die or are seriously injured as a result of fire in the workplace. Fire can cost businesses vast amounts of money, sometimes causing them to close permanently. It is vital for businesses to ensure that their premises meet fire safety regulations, while ensuring all employees and visitors know what action to take in the event of fire.

    Who needs these qualifications?

    The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) requires the ‘responsible person’ (employer, occupier or owner) to take reasonable steps to reduce the risk from fire and ensure safe escape for both employees and visitors. The FSO requires the responsible person to:

    • Ensure all employees are provided with adequate safety training at the time they are first employed and on being exposed to new and increased risks.
    • Appoint one or more ‘competent persons’ to assist with fire safety in the workplace, and provide them with sufficient training to remain effective in reducing the risks from fire hazards.
    • Make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the fire risks in the workplace to which relevant persons are exposed, for the purpose of identifying general fire precautions.

    These AOSH UK qualifications have been launched to help organisations meet their duties under current fire safety legislation, and protect both people and premises from fire.

Food Safety
  • EU and UK regulations state that all food handlers must receive appropriate training in food safety practices relevant to their duties. However, having a good understanding of food safety practices is not only a legal requirement, it is also essential in protecting the health of both consumers and food handlers.

    Who needs these qualifications?

    Everyone who works with food has a special responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers and ensures that the food they serve or sell is perfectly safe to eat.  

    AOSH UK Food Safety qualifications are designed for anyone working in catering, hospitality or manufacturing settings where food is cooked, prepared, served or produced. Workplaces include fast-food outlets pubs, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, care and nursing homes, schools and the armed forces.

  • AOSH UK have developed qualifications to provide an awareness of key environmental concepts, best practice and working within an environmental management system.

    These qualifications focus on excellence in delivery and the effective use of interactive visual aids to inspire and motivate learners to implement what they have been taught.

    Who needs these Qualifications?

    These qualifications are ideal for all members of staff whose activities could have a significant impact on the environment or supervisors or managers who are being introduced to environmental issues for the first time.

Certified Master Trainer
  • Gain a practical, how-to overview of the entire training function. Through modeling of the best practices and latest techniques in training delivery, discover the 4Ps of training:

    • Performance & Evaluation

    New trainers will gain a strong foundation in critical training skills and experienced trainers will be introduced to new approaches for delivering effective training.

    Program Overview

    The AOSH UK Certified Master Trainer (Train the Trainer) Certificate content is practical and grounded in the real world, not just academic theory. This program focuses on what happens before, during, and after you deliver training, and what to do if training is not the right solution.
    Learner feedback indicates high value in the following areas:  student engagement, expert facilitation and applicable tools and techniques.

    How long will it take?
    Delivery would typically be through 3 days face to face training course

    Who Should Attend?
    This program is ideal for new or experienced trainers who have not had formal education in training. It is also for those trainers who need a refresher to improve their classroom techniques and methods to transfer learning to work situations.
    AOSH UK Train the Trainer programs are designed primarily for learning professionals – trainers, instructional designers, and organizational development practitioners – but would also benefit anyone within an organization who is responsible for developing others, from managers to human resources specialists.

    Attendance Policy
    Participation in the full program is mandatory in order to receive the certificate of completion. Participants who miss more than two hours of the entire program will not be eligible to receive the certificate. Participants who fulfill the attendance requirement will receive a certificate at the end of the program.

    Certificate validity
    The AOSH UK  Certified Master Trainer (Train the Trainer) program is valid for a period of three years.

Certified Safety Trainer (CST) Certification
  • Certified Safety Trainer (CST) certification is for experienced safety professional who expert in developing, designing, and delivering EHS training.

    Eligibility Criteria:
    To be eligible for the CST, candidates have met one of the following two options:

    Option 1: Accredited master/bachelor degree in any subject or and at least three years of professional safety experience in any industry and have conducted at least 150 delivery hours of teaching or training in any EHS specialty.

    Option 2: Conducted at least 100 delivery hours of teaching or training in any EHS specialty and AOSH UK accepted following credentials:

    • Certified Safety Specialist – CSS
    • Certified Safety Professional – CSP
    • Grad IOSH / CM IOSH  

    Recertification: 5 Years

Certified EHS Supervisor (CES) Certification
  • Certified EHS Supervisor (CES) is for health and safety professionals who want to know how to fulfill their health and safety responsibilities and progress their careers. It covers international standards and is ideal for people operating in multinational organizations.

    Certified EHS Supervisor (CES) suitable for those embarking on a career in health and safety, providing a sound basis for progression on AOSH UK Certified Safety Specialists (CSS)

Certified Safety Officer (CSO) Certification
  • Certified Safety Officer (CSO) is a comprehensive safety program specially designed for anyone involved in any industry such as Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, Safety Coordinators and Safety Advisor and Craftspeople who have responsibilities to maintain safe conditions and practices on job sites. These individuals may not have safety as a primary duty, but their knowledge of safety standards and practices ensure safer worksites.

    Certified Safety Officer (CSO) blueprint contains five (5) domains

    Eligibility Criteria: 
    Minimum education high school with two (2) years of work experience in any industry or AOSH 30 or four (4) years of safety work experience in any industry.

    Re-Certification: 3 Years

AOSH 30 Certification
  • AOSH 30 certification is a comprehensive safety program specially designed for anyone involved in the construction industry such as Foramen, Superintendents, Project Managers, Safety Coordinators,  Safety Advisor and Craftspeople who have responsibilities to maintain safe conditions and practices on construction sites.

    AOSH 30 certification is based on 29 CFR 1926 OSHA and is ideal for international delegates.

The CSS is the pioneer certification (in the UK) in safety, health, environment, and ergonomics accredited by IAS/ISO/IEC 17024:2012 standards for personnel certification programs. AOSH UK values its status as a recognised certification body. AOSH UK procedures and resources monitored by the International Accreditation Service (IAS).

    Applicants for CSS certification must meet one of the following two options:

    Option 1: Accredited master/bachelor degree in any subject and at least three years of experience in any industry (minimum 50% job task must be related to safety).

    Option 2: Associate diploma in HSE or closely related field and at least four years of experience in any industry (minimum 50% job task must relate to safety).

    Re-Certification: 5 Years
